GENEALOGY RESEARCH
WATERCOLOR PAINTING
IN MY FREE TIME
My passion for genealogy research goes beyond a hobby. I'm fascinated to learn about the ancestors who came before me, what their lives were like.
It's as much about with connecting to relatives I never knew I had as the challenge of following the clues to build a family tree.
My tree has well over 1,000 relatives, and I have met many either virtually or in person. A highlight was organizing a family meet up zoom of over 25 cousins aged 16 to 96 who didn't know of each other's existence!

While pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, most of my creativity was in life drawing and some oil painting. When I had the opportunity to learn watercolor painting later on I was smitten!
Watercolor is not only about the ability to paint and create, but also incorporates planning and thinking. Because you have to plan out your negative space before you begin the paint, it becomes a not only a creative outlet, but a thinking one as well!
